How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen?
I don’t get much time to unplug. It happens on the weekend getaways. I’ve tried making myself take time to go to the beach or take a leisurely stroll to just chill but everything always happens, all the time.
How many days do you just stare at lush grass and imagine yourself plopped down, laying on your back, just staring off into the sky? Never? Just me? Ok. Apparently I yearn for self grounding.
What’s odd though, is I never really allow myself to just go lay in the grass because I have too much to do.
I started taking mom retreats with other moms who have had journeys like mine. It was super hard at first and I dealt with a ton of mom guilt, but it has been good for me.
Uncomfortable? Yep.
Weird not knowing everyone? Yep.
Sometimes strange navigating meeting so many different types of personalities? Yep.
Yet, relaxing .
Some of these retreats are combined with an advocacy component and focusing on “refilling your cup”. Which also helps when I feel depleted from being a human. It’s hard!
Take a break.
Go on a trip.
Lay in the grass.
