Are you more of a night or morning person?

It really depends on how much sleep I’ve been getting. My insomnia was terrible growing up and I was forever a night dweller. Then I had kids and one of them has trouble sleeping, even at 9 years old. He has Down syndrome and Autism/ADHD and I found out recently that people with these diagnoses or tendencies towards, have trouble sleeping. So basically I can get by with 4-5 hours a night and possibly a 20 minute nap if there’s time during the day.

Now that I’ve weirdly went off on a tangent about WHY I have had to adjust my preferences, I still choose both.

If it’s not my kids waking me up then it is our cat, Steve. 6am and he starts rattling the bedroom door handle and meowing LOUDLY. He keeps doing it until I get up to feed him. I used to get angry but then I changed my point of view. Make myself a giant cup of coffee and sit in silence with my thoughts before the house is filled with beautiful noise. That makes me a morning person but I prefer to spend it alone in my messy brain.

Staying up late is fun but there’s a 95% chance that I will be awakened at 3am. And expected to make actual decisions, most likely a medical one. There’s really not much time to be tired.
